Forgotten
Forgotten is a single-player narrative shooter featuring voiced cutscenes that provide backstory and atmosphere.
This was a solo project, developed using Unity, with asset packs sourced from Snyth Polygon.

Overview
Player Controls
For the movement system, I drew inspiration from Call of Duty and Battlefield, two of the most popular first-person shooters with intuitive and widely recognized control schemes. I wanted players to feel comfortable immediately, so I implemented a familiar setup:
- WASD – Move
- R – Reload
- Mouse – Look around
- Right Click – Aim
- Left Click – Shoot
This approach allows experienced players to jump right in while ensuring newcomers face minimal learning barriers.
To enhance immersion, I added a fully animated 8-way locomotion system, allowing players to see their own body and arms when looking down—rather than the typical floating-camera perspective. This small detail greatly improves realism and engagement.
Animations & Cutscenes
Leveraging my prior experience with Unity’s Timeline system, I created several voiced cutscenes to enhance storytelling and world-building.
These cutscenes serve two key purposes:
- Structuring Progression – They act as natural breaks between gameplay sections, guiding players through the experience.
- Narrative Depth – They provide crucial story beats, reinforcing the setting and the player’s role in the game.

Level Design
When designing the levels, I took heavy inspiration from iconic military and war movies to create a believable, immersive environment for players to navigate.
One of my favorite moments in the game is the final section, where the player believes they are about to be rescued by helicopter—only to face an unexpected and tragic twist. This sequence plays with player expectations, delivering a memorable and impactful ending.
